Who We Are

The Connecticut Climbers and Mountaineers (CCM), the greatest climbing group in the world, is not just another climbing organization. Our fun doesn't stop when the ropes drop. All of our climbs are followed by a social hour to rehash the day's activities and plan for the next outing. Don’t climb? No problem, the CCM enjoys everything advee climbing, SCUBA, skydiving, trail/ultra running.

The CCM welcomes anyone who wants to participate. If you are an experienced climber just show up at any of our scheduled climbs. If you have little or no outdoor climbing experience send us an email at ctclimbers@gmail.com or fill out the contact form below so that we can arrange for you to come out at an appropriate event.

The CCM Facebook page is made available to anyone who attends CCM events or has regularly in the past.

History

The CCM was originally founded by a handful of individuals in 2004. They became known as the Founding Fathers, their mission was to guide the newly born organization (group, club, whatever...). They did a incredible job as history shows. When CCM began to grow it was clear that a more structured form of leadership was needed. The Executive Committee was created, The committee handled organizing, decision making and provide general direction for the CCM.

Now that CCM has reached a point of maturity (or immaturity) the executive committee will be transformed. The purpose of this new entity, the Board of Monks, is simple - organize and facilitate. It will be inclusive and not exclusive. With that in mind, we would like to invite anyone wishing to help to step forward.

The responsibilities are simple:
Show up - Attendance on wed. nights is essential since that is when most decisions are made
Lend your creative thoughts
Help facilitate trips
Have much fun
